 Helping the ADO Youth Fund

ADO InformationTerryM writes "BE A DART STAR!!!

Would you like to be featured on a major dart web site or dart publication??? As usual, the girls from Horizon/Laserdarts (Terry and Melody) will be attending several tournaments around the country in 2009. At four of these tournaments, we will be selling tickets for the ADO Youth Scholarship Fund. Tickets will be $1.00 and ALL proceeds will go to the ADO Youth Dart Fund. Watch Horizon’s ads in BEN and the Double Eagle early 2009 announcing the tournaments where this will happen. The first tournament will be Virginia Beach in March.

Each ticket bought will qualify the purchaser for a drawing. At each tournament, we will draw one man and one woman to be featured on the Horizon Darts web site and announced in our ads in Bull’s Eye News and the ADO Double Eagle. You will get a chance to tell a little bit about yourself and your accomplishments in darts. The winner will also receive a $20.00 gift certificate to use toward a purchase through Horizon Darts.

If, by chance, the same person is drawn at more than one tournament, that person will get a “Special Acknowledgement” for helping sponsor the ADO Youth players and a $20.00 gift certificate and another player will be drawn for the opportunity to tell their story.

So, keep an eye out for Terry and Melody, (we'll be wearing Horizon Darts or Laserdarts billboard dart shirts). Buy your tickets and show your support for our upcoming pros!!

Thanks for your support!!!

The first tourney that Mel and I will be selling the youth raffle tickets will be Virginia Beach. This tourney has a wonderful youth tournament held in conjunction to the adult tourney. If you have a chance, stop by and watch some of the darting furture stars. Hope to see you all there with at least a dollar to contribute to this worthy youth program.

Good luck to you all,
Terry

The first raffle for the ADO Youth Fund was held at Virginia Beach, March 28, 2009. We want to thank everyone who bought raffle tickets. It just goes to prove that even in hard economic times, darters are the best.

We had raised $325 leading up to the drawing on Saturday evening. Later, the fund was increased to $335 by a generous donation from Ron "Chili" Pepper. At a tourney where there are several worthy charity raffles going on, we considered this a modest success and a good start.

At Saturday nights drawing, the winners were pulled by two of the youths participating in the weekend long Virginia Beach Youth Tourney that runs in conjunction to the adult events.

Congratulations to Tom Sawyer from Peabody, MA and Marcia Loche of Jericho, NY. They were the winners of the $20 Horizon bucks and inclusion in our ads and on our website. (Look for them pictured in our future BEN and ADO Double Eagle ads as well as on our website, www.horizondarts.com). Tom then donated his $20 Horizon bucks to the youth director to be awarded to the winner of the 6-8 year old event held on Sunday. Gold star to you, Tom!!! That's the way to encourage to the next generation of dart superstars.

And just a note to give a round of applause to the great group of folks who donate their time and effort to run this wonderful VA Beach Youth tourney. These folks have it down pat.

The next raffle tournament will be posted shortly. It is pending approval from the youth and tourney directors of the selected tournament. Watch SEWA for the announcement where you can buy your Horizon ADO Youth Fund Raffle tickets.

Happy Darting!!!

Well, the first ADO Youth Program raffle was held at the Virginia Beach tournament and $335 was collected. This includes an 'after raffle' donation by Ron "Chili" Pepper. Considering that there were several other charitable raffles and drawings going on at the same time, we consider this a modest but good beginning. We want to thank all those who contributed.

The drawing was held on Saturday evening with the winners being pulled by two youth participants from the Youth Tournament held in conjunction with the adult events.

The winners??? Tom Sawyer of Peabody, MA and Marcia Loche of Jericho, NY. Congratulations to both winners. Tom in turn donated his $20 in Horizon Bucks to the TADA Youth Director to be given as a prize for the youngest competitor level in Sunday's youth events. That's the spirit, Tom.

We will soon post where the next tournament raffle will be held.

Happy Darting,
The Horizon Darts Crew
