I just got back from looking for Muffin's Pub based off of an article from Dartoid a few years back... well, maybe more than a few years. Anyway, I am staying on 42nd and 2nd and was pumped to go down to this bar supposedly a few blocks away from where I am staying after Dartoid's glowing article on the place. The place is long gone.
I endend up talking with some of NYC's fines and they told me to go to Overlook's on 44th and 3rd... not so good.
Does anybody have any suggestions for Midtown East steel tip dart joints?
    Thanks in advance.

    hey dart dawg,

    yeah Muffins no longer exists.
It became Sandy's then they lost their lease.
it was a GREAT dart bar. BUT there are many other ones right now.
--Dartoid; Kettle of Fish is still around and still a great joint--

First off, here is a link to the Manhattan league website.
    http://nydo.com/html/index.htm
They have a list of dart bars and schedules if you want to check out some
    of the local competition.
I play A-1 Tuesday Night; "positively 89th street" is the team name.

My list of the best bars right now:

    1. The Gaf (east) ( 3 boards )
89th street and 1st ave ( upper east side )
***Friday Nights, a lot of the top shooters hit here to play** (ask for Tony Roman or Tom Lally. tell em I sent ya. Don't worry they won't throw you out. lol)

    2. O'Hanlon's ( 3 boards )
    14th street and 1st ave ( east side )

    3. Flannery's ( 4 boards )
    14th street and 7th ave ( west side )

    4. Kettle of Fish ( 2 boards )
Christopher street and 7th ave ( greenwich village )

    5. Bleeker St. Bar ( 3 boards )
    58 Bleeker St ( 7th ave, I think ) ( east village )

There are also many, many cool dart bars in the outer bouroughs,
if you want to check those out. let me know.

lots of good darts to be had and let me know if i can help any further.

    good luck and enjoy!

Thanks all... that is really helpful.

    Dartoid-
I should have looked into it further and posted on here before I left... that was my mistake. I hope I did not come off like I was throwing you under the bus for an article you wrote 10+ years ago... I am still bummed though, I was really looking forward to it.

    Got it... thanks.
Looks like O'Hanlon's might be closest and Flannery's Sat night if possible.
Thanks All... if you see a guy who looks like Kevin James and is wearing a Mariners pull over or an orange button down throw a bottle cap at me.

I actually ended up going to The Gaf last night. This is a serious dart bar with a fantastic ambiance. I had a great time and ended up playing until about 3:30 having my hat handed to me by a guy named Phil F. most of the night. I was able to sneak out a couple of wins... but, it was mostly a one sided contest. I learned a few things and played some new games so I've got that going for me.
The mention of Muffin's brought up a lot of passion from most of the players.
Thanks for all of your recommendations.
