Ally Noble Scholarship Fund

Team SEWA,

As you know, Mike Noble (OnandGone -- MNoble) passed away and there is an education fund set up for his daughter Ally, that we can donate to. So I've decided that I will donate 100% of all proceeds from Team SEWA Flights and Patch Sales to this fund.

I'll be out of town next week but will leave the sales block up for anyone wishing to help out by purchasing some Team SEWA flights or patches.

I've got in the neighborhood of 700 sets of flights and about 35 patches so perhaps we can work together to donate at least that much to Ally's education.

If you order a patch or flights and I'm out of that particular type when you order you can choose to: donate the funds, accept something else, or receive a refund -- but I will notify you if this occurs.

Again, 100% will go to the Education fund for Mikes daughter Ally and will be donated by "All of us at SEWA-Darts.com".

Note: PayPal takes a small percentage for each order so bear in mind that I will be donating the funds that I receive after this. I will pay shipping on all orders out of pocket so all funds received will go straight to Ally's fund.

$70 so far! Thanks folks! I'll be working to get the flights and patches out this weekend -- but also remember to check your email for the SPAM ARRESTOR email asking you to click a link. It's my spam protection at work and is the only way I'll know if you buy some flights when I am unable to log into pay pal (like on the road).

Thanks All! We're up to $221 now and I'm hoping to at least double that (triple would be better).

I know it's just a small thing, but I'm hoping that two things will happen:

1. We help in some way financially (we're doing that)

2. Ally remembers that her Dad was loved by a lot of people. He was a popular guy who was well liked and respected.

Sometimes I think that might help just a little.

I dont need the flights but i will match $ for $ of the next 150 that we raise. We were able to raise 900 for lupus which is a great cause for the Dartoid v BH match so I know we can do at least that or better for Mikeys fund for Ally. This is if Eric is ok with taking straight donations as well.

However, I am not sure how to do that....so once you and Leo straighten it out Erik of how you will handle just cash donations please let me know....I will match Leo's donation....Mike meant a great deal to me as a friend and I know how hard financially it is to grow up in a single family household when your father passes unexpectedly....

We're still at $285 here but I haven't used the 'support SEWA' function yet for those who don't want flights or patches so......

If you want to just donate please use the SUPPORT SEWA block on the front page of the site and put a note in it that says "Scholarship Fund" or something similar.

Having finally acquired the money order from the donations received, I've sent the funds to the bank with the enclosed note copied here since I have no idea if these get to the family or not (really don't know what I'm doing with these things):

To the Noble Family:

We took up a collection for this fund at the Great Wide Open dart tournament in Malden, MA, this past weekend, August 1-2, 2008.

We collected a total of $680 toward this fund from the Commonwealth Dart League, Patriot Dart League, and from dart players throughout New England. We hope this helps in some small measure through this most difficult of times.

Many of us knew and played darts with Mike over the years and also knew him through web sites such as SEWA darts and are happy to be able to assist in whatever way we can.

We are currently at $604 in donations, pledges and sales.

I know we can do better. On&Gone was a large part of SEWA and I'm hopeful that the 3000 members of the site can aid in helping his daughter out -- heck, one set of flights costs 75 cents and shipping is $1.50 (S&H) so your set of flights will donate $2.25 to the cause -- if each member did this (except the ten that already have ordered) we could give Ally's Education Fund a good start on her education.

I will continue to leave the links up and you can either buy product, of which I will donate 100% of the sales and pay for the shipping myself, or just use the donations link and make a small donation which I will add to the total.

Again, I've donated all of my sales (not profit THE WHOLE THING) to this. I take nothing from it and pay the shipping and you get a set of flights or a patch etc for the effort.

Thanks to Vanduynl, Charis, Anne, Chris, Hunter, Wayne, Rhonda, Robert, Dave, Jeff, Mark and Linda who have all donated or purchased items during this period.

I have 15 patches remaining out of the original 200 that were ordered. That's $75 plus shipping that can be added to the fund.

I've got lots of flights left though -- hundreds still.

Let's help Ally out! Let's show Mike we appreciated his hard work and dedication to our sport and site and step in where he no longer can and help his daughter realize her dreams.
